Hannah joined BA in 2017.
Hannah has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Vermont and a Master’s degree from Saint Joseph’s College. Hannah has certification in Administration, ESL, and classroom teaching.
Fun Facts: Hannah is a native Vermonter currently living in Rochester. She started her teaching career in the Roxbury Village School and also taught in Montpelier and Burlington. She and her husband just returned back to Vermont from two overseas teaching positions. The last two years she was with the American International School in Israel as the Director of Teaching and Learning. Prior to that, they spent 4 years in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – at the Horn of Africa – at the International Community School. She also taught at American international schools in Vienna, Austria and Quito, Ecuador.
She and her husband love to share stories, photos and artifacts from their travels.
Devyn joined BA in 2018.
Devyn has an undergraduate degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Theatre and Medieval European Studies. In addition to his double major, he completed a Teacher Education Program with a focus in Childhood Education and Students with Disabilities grades 1-6. He then graduated in 2016 from Hobart and William Smith Colleges with a Master of Arts Teaching Degree (MAT) in Childhood and Special Education Grades 1-6. Previous to BA he has taught third grade in New York and then first grade at The Prosper Valley School.
Fun Facts: Devyn sang tenor and was a beatboxer for an acapella group for five years. He got the chance to study the Performing Arts abroad in Bali, Indonesia during college. He loves music, sports, obstacle course/trail racing, and juggling.
School Social Worker
Jessica joined BA in 2018.
Jessica has an undergraduate degree in Social Work from Syracuse University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Boston University. Jessica has been working in the social work field for the last 13 years, primarily in child welfare. After supporting foster and adoptive children and families for 7 years at Casey Family Services, Jessica worked in Early Intervention and most recently supported parents with substance abuse and addiction.
Administrative Assistant and STEAM Coordinator
Regi joined BA in 2010.
Regi attended Florida College.
Fun Facts: Regi worked for Contemporary Services Company as a security officer and event manager for 13 years? She covered events for the Orlando Magic and Jacksonville Jaguars as well as the Olympics in Atlanta and eleven Super Bowls.
Kelly joined BA in 2018.
Kelly is currently pursuing an A.A. in Early Childhood Education.
Fun Facts: Kelly has five siblings, one of which is her twin sister. She enjoys extreme sports such as skydiving, parasailing, and snorkeling. Other hobbies include hiking, kayaking, camping, swimming, and spending time with her family.
Ann joined BA in 2017.
Ann has 13 years experience in the field of education. Since 2002, she has worked in different settings and with different age groups, including four years of experience working with children diagnosed with Autism, working as Head Teacher and as a Director. She ran the Barnard Afterschool Program for two years. She is a licensed Early Childhood Educator in both Vermont and New Jersey.
Fun Facts: Ann lives in Barnard with her husband and son. Her hobbies include jewelry making, hiking, crocheting, & swimming.
Ingrid joined BA in 1995.
She has a BA in Elementary Education from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University). Ingrid is a Certified Reading Specialist for Pre-K and K and has earned 24 graduate credits.
Fun facts: Ingrid has been to Kenya, East Germany, England, Canada and thirty two of the United States. She hopes to travel to Antarctica and Churchill, Manitoba in the future. She wants to see the polar bears.
Grades 1 and 2
Jamie joined BA in 2004.
Jamie has a BS in Education with a minor in Special Education from the University of Vermont.
Fun Fact: Jamie loves learning about different cultures. She traveled through China and Mongolia during a three-week Asian studies program through the University of Vermont and has traveled around the United States with friends, visiting the Grand Canyon, the California Redwoods, Hawaii, and Alaska, to name a few. She hopes to travel more in the future, and teach or serve in other countries.
Paula joined BA Hired in 2003.
Paula previously worked with Magic Mountain childcare.
Fun Facts: Paula has a 45-year-old red-eared slider turtle. She is passionate about photography, family, gardening, and animals. She also owns two parakeets, a golden retriever, a beta fish, and a cat.
Math Teacher for Intermediate Hub (Grades 3-6).
Britney joined BA in 2008, teaching Kindergarten, First, and Second Grades before transitioning to teaching math.
Britney has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine and Teacher Certification from the Upper Valley Educators Institute. She graduated in 2018 from the University of Vermont with a Master’s of Science in Teaching (MST).
Fun Facts: Britney met Captain Kangaroo at her parent’s bicycle store when she was 3 years old and traveled to the Galapagos Islands while in high school. She presented at NCTM in 2018 about using visual models for all children in grades K-5. In her free time she enjoys kayaking, crafting, and spending time with family.

She joined BA in August, 2017.
Megan graduated from the University of Vermont in 2014 with a degree in Elementary Education and Psychology. Her last position was a third grade classroom teacher at Montgomery Elementary School.
Fun Facts: Megan grew up in Central Vermont and loves the sense of community and accessibility to the outdoors here.
Science and Social Studies Teacher for Intermediate Hub (Grades 3-6).
Nancy joined BA in 1992.
She has a BA in Social Work from Ohio University & a M.Ed. from the College of St. Joseph.
Fun Facts: Nancy is the first and only sixth grade teacher at Barnard Academy. She loves to travel and has been to Italy twice and Rome once. She would like to travel to Greece and Egypt some day.
Janet joined BA in 2016.
Janet’s education includes a BA in Geology from Carleton College, in Northfield, Minnesota. She was a high school science teacher in New Hampshire for two years. Janet attained her certificate to teach K-12 Art through Upper Valley Educators Institute in 2000, and has been teaching elementary art in Vermont for 17 years.
Fun Facts: Janet has studied the art of felt making in Finland, and currently likes to use a printing press to make art. She enjoys biking and kayaking and she is proud of her two grown sons: one is a bird scientist, and one is a jewelry maker.
Library Media Specialist
Eileen joined BA in 2002.
Eileen has a BA in English Literature from Wayne State University, an Endorsement as Library Media Specialist from the State of Vermont and has a K-6 Educator License
Fun Facts: Eileen was honored by the University of Vermont as Teacher of the Year for 2011-2012. Eileen is an artist who has shown her art at Bookstock, through the ArtisTree group in Woodstock and at the AVA Gallery in Lebanon.
Sharon joined BA in 2004.
Sharon has a BA in English and Speech (theatre) from Shippensburg University and a MA in Performing Arts in Education from Goddard College
Fun Facts: Sharon was once a professional actress in New York City. She worked with Bernadette Peters and Scott McKenzie and acted in the sixties theatrical comedy The Knack, touring in the late sixties and seventies. Sharon has followed her passions and continues to enjoy traditional dance and teaching music and theatre to children.

Kipp joined BA in August 2017.
Kipp has a Bachelor of Science from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona
Fun Facts: Kipp moved to Vermont from Alaska last year to bring his passion for the outdoors & lifetime sports to the students in this area (and of course to get some laps in on Killington’s 200+ day seasons!) He was fortunate enough while growing up in Alaska to get to do things like ski, snowboard, snowshoe, hike, bike, ice skate & whitewater kayak, and now he’s incredibly excited to get to share his experience in these activities, plus many others, with the Barnard Academy students.
His teaching background is in Elementary PE & Health, youth ski coaching, and leading summer camp adventure & sports programs.
Elaine joined BA in 2009.
Elaine has a BA in Hispanic Language and Literature from Boston University.
Fun Facts: Elaine attended El Instituto Internacional de Madrid, where she studied the European Union from the perspective of a European Union member. She took an art history course in the Prado Museum and has traveled extensively throughout Spain. Elaine enjoys cooking Spanish food, which isn’t easy to find in Vermont.
