The Barnard Academy library is an active place. All students have an opportunity to attend library classes each week. The students meet for literature enrichment and library and research skills on Wednesdays. BA participates in the Red Clover and the Dorothy Canfield Fisher book programs. Our library space is also used for various meetings and special learning sessions. Parents are welcome to come into our library and check out books. The librarian is available two days a week, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

A Virtual Walk In the Woods
Go for a virtual walk in the woods. The site was produced at the University of Illinois, but the flora and fauna are similar to that in our own Vermont woods.
Click to see our automated catalog system. You will be able to view our collection from home now. Not all of our acquisitions have been entered into the new system, but we are hopeful that the job will be completed by the end of the school year.
DCF Book Award
Dorothy Canfield Fisher Book Award Program. Our students in grades four through six can participate in the DCF Award Program. Follow the link to read more about the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Book Award.
Red Clover Books
The Red Clover book program introduces students to the best picture books of the year. The Red Clover Award is co-sponsored by Mother Goose Programs, Windham County Reads and the Vermont Departments of Education and Libraries. Each year our students are introduced to ten of the best picture books of the year. Children in Kindergarten through grade four have an opportunity to vote for their favorite Red Clover selection. The link will take you to the official Red Clover site where you can read about each new book. These ten books have been given to our school library by Mother Goose Programs and the Vermont Center for the Book.
